Get your paws on Rachel Zoe's jewelry

Bananas. Rachel Zoe is auctioning her prized costume jewelry at Decades Two. Maybe the economy has hit her just as hard as us, little people? I doubt it, but some of the proceeds go toward Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. Isn't that super noble of her? One point for Zoe.

Happy Monday!

Oh dear, excuse my lack of weekly round-up on Friday! I had weekend on the brain and wasn't looking back. Well, we're back to the work week, but I've got a good feeling about this one! Maybe it's because I stumbled upon these beauties:

Chocolate Wafers + Ice Cream = I dig it

And...special thanks to Gabby of Gabby, She Wrote for her rad award!!! Check out her spot, follow her, anything. She's got some good things to say.

All my attention on Africa

Gorgeous, inspired home from Architectural Digest makes #354 on my list of reasons why I want to visit Africa. I actually have been once, technically, for about 9 hours, from Spain to Tangier, Morocco. What a tease.

Tiny post: Bag-o-Money

Looks like a cat burglar's bag! Here.

Living longer means giving up french fries and doughnuts

Did anyone happen to catch yesterday's Oprah?  Dr. Oz talked about how reducing your calorie intake to about 1600-1900 (approx.) a day (appropriately named the "calorie restriction" lifestyle), can potentially increase your chances of living past the age of 100!

This "diet" restricts you to veggies, fruits, nuts, beans (maybe a lean meat here and there)...ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.   So my question is, (a) would you rather outlive all your relatives, maybe have more energy throughout the day, and live and extraordinarily healthy lifestyle or (b) live a bit shorter, sip on sweet, cold cocktails, and snack on bacon?  Hmm, I know my answer.

And if anyone knows someone who follows this regimen...I'm curious to hear ALL about it!  Want to see how many cals you'd have to give up to live like this?  Here.

Spotted: Hanging Chairs

Cruising around on the web, I came across this wonderful spring inspiration: hanging chairs. Wouldn't you just love to curl up with the latest issue of People and a cold glass of iced tea? So, what else? I scoured the shops for others that could cause the same sentiment.

Which is your pick?

I can see clearly now

Oh, I do love me some plastic frames...and even more recently, these crystal clear ones. Just a tiny bit more subtle than the thick, heavy, black kinds that have been dressing people faces the past four years. Here's just a sample of what I'll be keeping my eye out for:

And then, there's the dreamy clear, yellow spectacles...

{both, han}

PLASTIC = LOVE.

I have the Twitter bug

...and how could I not? Just look at my lineup.

If you have some more suggestions, pass them this way. In the meantime, go hassle the hoff. Happy Monday!

Hello, Friday

Oh man, the weekend, and it's going to be a great one.  What are your plans?  My crazy, wonderful friend is visiting from D.C. and then I'm off to college for a night.  Here's a round-up of some of my favorites this week:

One of my favorite 16-year-old
bloggers.

What might be banned in NJ?

My
favorite street look of the week.

This looks like a good
place for my behind.

lucky necklace!

I want a pretty
change purse!

Can they make a
VR + JB?

It's been a
pillow kind of week I see!

I'm digging this Americana style for spring.

And...we should
tweet together.

xo!

P.S. Don't you think these photos of Allie from The City are absolutely gorgeous?

Dance moves, not outfit post

{Zara blazer, H+M striped shirt, DYI vintage boyfriend jeans, vintage peach scarf}

I hate to admit...the whole outfit post thing looks a lot easier than it actually is. About 30 min worth of shots fruited me this single acceptable picture. I look like I'm about to do a jig...or a crypt-walk maybe?

Couch Candy

The top 10 Google search terms from 2005 to present on each pillow by its respective year. Thanks to the genius of Elodie Blanchard and her French designer-self, we can look back and remember the good...some bad, ahem, Anna Nicole Smith.

Gemma Booth Photography

I found Ms. Booth via Vic and couldn't get myself to navigate away from all the fun!  From fashion to ads to inspirational documentary, it captures all the quirks of life: big smiles, band hats, dress-up, and toy robots.  Visit Gemma's blog too, it's not too shabby either.

Ebay find: Vintage feathers

{1, 2, 3, 4}

The king of all vintage feathers: most stocked in the Walters International store are circa early 1900s. How insane is that? I plan on ordering a handful to make some sort of headpiece or headband. Can't wait to start drawing up some ideas! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Hello, Friday

Ahhh, the weekend. Tell me this week didn't feel like molasses? Doing anything good? I'm baking some Lemon Butter Cookies with my new cookie cutters and just looking forward to some much-needed r+r. I need to apologize for my lack of weekly round-up, but I'll leave you with this...

design*sponge's guest blog section filled with delights from around the world written by Sara of Lost Bird Found. Places like Croatia, India, and...Queens, NY! Treasures from all over, making my weekend happy. Lots of love!

P.S. HUGE thank you to Vanessa's Runway and Eva's House for the lovely awards this week! Check both of them out...they're a pretty big deal.

Boom! Roasted.

Can't wait for The Office tonight.  Just makes Thursday nights a tiny bit better.

Eating worms and guts

One of my favorite shows is Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel (on Tuesdays). Andrew Zimmern travels the world to all these amazing places, and then gorges on bugs, guts, rodents, and other delicacies of that sort. Since I don't have his chutzpah, I'll have to resort to eating these treats:

Bon appetit, friends.

A little marketing research...

Well...I'm always proud to feature things that make me go nuts...the prettiest of pretty, but what I really want to know is, what are the things that make you go ga-ga? Vote accordingly or write whatever you feel.

(a) showcase everyday outfits (which would be new)
(b) some more trend forecasts
(c) handmade goods? i make a mean bracelet.
(d) some cooking/baking
(e) home decor and inspiration
(f) exactly what i'm doing
(g) other...please specify

Please answer all the ones that apply. Love you to bits. xo
