Geordi La Forge? Nope, it's street style.

Okayyyy...so, futuristic sunglasses are making a comeback? The trend has been itching to get back in the spotlight since 2007's over-sized specs were a hit. But could it actually be that people, normal people, are wearing these? Apparently, in Tel Aviv, they are. Maybe they were really excited about Star Trek's release...getting all Geordi La Forge on us.

Rock it (give thumbs up) or Knock it (laugh in their face)? I'm curious to hear your take.

Knit and Purl Girl: Paul Smith Cardigan

If you know how to knit, it's your lucky day.
If you don't, learn now. Go buy needles and yarn.
I mean, just look at this pattern on Harper's Bazaar UK.
So cool. With a light cotton yarn, could be the perfect summer sweater.
Paul Smith, marry me...or at least, knit with me.

1. Holga 35mm Camera, $48.00: For old, retro-colored photos that will tickle your summer fancy through the fun and sun.
2. Elephant Bottle Opener, $11.99: To avoid having that ice, cold brewski and no bottle opener...
3. NYC Compass, $5.95: Critical in getting around, especially when you get off the subway. A little humble reminder to those who are well-trained in Manhattan navigation--sometimes you need help finding your way.
4. Sodastream Fountain, $93.98: Now that everyone has a Brita (for the most part), don't bother buying sparkling water. Make your own and save your dough for a rainy day.
5. Kindle DX, $489.00: Train rides, beach days, and waiting in line at Whole Foods requires downtime and lots of it...catch up on your reading. Steep tag, but well worth it.

P.S. 4 day week! :)

Unofficially Officially Summer

For the past some odd days, I've been couped up at the beach with no worries besides putting on sunscreen. I purposely did NOT bring my tiny computer...and wouldn't you know, I resorted to blogging on my Blackberry (which I really despise). Desperate times called for desperate measures.

With my tan in full swing, I can officially say that summer fun is here to stay. I'm breaking out my Goodwill find: a straw tote with the word "Acapulco" sewn into it. Exciting. How'd you spend your holiday weekend, lovlies?

Certainly Circus

Vogue Germany's May fashion editorial was bringing the circus to town...I want in! Reminds me of how excited I got for Britney's new CD.

EDIT: Check out my Inspiration Board over at STYLECASTER! While you're at it, sign up...seriously addicting, all day fun.

Obsessed much? Jessica Szohr's Hair-do

Just look at her. She can pull off glam, wild and curly, and messy, boheme...

I'm getting my hair cut today and looking for some serious inspiration! It's just gotten SO long and I'm a little sick of it. My hair is naturally like look #2, almost as long as #1, but i usually wear it so it looks like #3. Any suggestions on a cut? Let me know by 6:30PM. Countdown to shears, starting...now.

UPDATE: I chickened out...just a trim! My. hair. looks. exactly. the. same.

David Carter Interiors

David Carter's designs aren't so over designed...It actually looks like a real person could live there.  My favorite piece?  That contraption above the fireplace in the last photo. It's cheeky.

I'm sorry, but this gets me every time.

Where did HE get HIS moves?  I'm jealous.

Flawed Photo

Shaky hands and sharp, rapid movements yielded this, but I sort of like it's faults (I think it's because I'm wearing my favorite shirt)! Funny how things don't work out...or how they do.

Topic of today: joining gyms. Worth it or a complete waste of time? Either way, it's too late. I took the dive yesterday and I think it MIGHT be okay. I mean, the place has a pool...it's gotta be worth it? Ha.

I Want to Ride My Bicycle

What's your Tuesday look like? Mine is work, work, and work, but I really wish it involved laying in a hammock with an iced hazelnut coffee or cruising around downtown on a sweet bike. I have to remember to get my prom pic up as tagged by k at blog goggles (I'll get it up soon...it involves scanning...and, I'll admit, I've been l-a-z-y). Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday filled with cupcakes and big bows. xx

Speaking of bikes - I need you right now:

Maybe...you too for two:

Mainly because I always wanted to cruise around like these beauties:

P.S. I CAN'T believe I missed Gossip Girl last night. The Hills = Stephanie is the worst intern ever. Doesn't she realize that she looks like a dope on national television??

Frugality: Cuban inspired sandals

I first introduced these a couple days ago in my Market post and got a ridiculous amount of feedback. The first, not so awful with the price, but I seriously hit the jackpot with the second pair, almost identical, for under $30. Obsess and swoon, kids. Happy Monday!

Mom's the word: Beauty

{With Mother's Day around the bend, cheesy Hallmark cards, red tulips, and Godiva dark chocolate truffles flash through my mind. Frankly, I'm sick of doing the same thing every year. After trying to figure out my plan of action, I realized that Mother's Day is really about remembering the lessons she's taught you. It's appreciating the perfectly folded tees, scrambled eggs in the morning, and a cold glass of her homemade lemonade when its 90 degrees out.

To commemorate my Mom, these next couple of days, I'll share with you her (secret) rules for beauty, style, and good eats! I'll be honest, for every single one of these, I made a face like "Mom, get real"...and wouldn't you know, she was absolutely right! Isn't that always the case? Here's to you, Mommy...}

  • For silky sheen, apply a tiny coat of olive oil on your mane at least once monthly. Egg yolks, too, work wonders. Both will feel absolutely wrong, but just wash out after a half hour and the results are close-to-model shine.
  • During the winter, when your knuckles get crackly, throw on some cotton gloves and nice hand lotion. There's nothing worse than dry, rough, and bloody knuckles. Yuck and yuck.

  • Wear light make-up, nothing heavy, overdone, or fake. My mom follows this rule religiously. She only uses an eyelash curler and light lipstick for daytime and still looks as gorgeous as ever.

  • Don't ever dye your hair because once you start, you won't stop. I didn't listen to this advice, but I wish I had! Highlights were never my look...took almost 2 years to grow them out!

  • Always moisturize your face. Always wear SPF...for obvious reasons. Really, the secret to avoiding wrinkles and sunspots. Her favorite is Complex 15.

  • Impeccable hair is a big deal. You can tell a lot by a person's hair. A tiny clip, headband, anything...doesn't have to be glamorous...just brushed and neat.
