Obsessed much? Martin Lamothe.

Been so BUSY, but, of course, I've had time to swoon over Pixie Market's new selection of Martin Lamothe. I think my subconscious is telling me to get a spring jacket...

happy day! xx

Frugality: Huge straw totes

I absolutely refuse to use any type of briefcase or ugly mesh/faux leather tote to carry all my things to work. I love the elegance of the Kors, but what a disgusting price tag! I figure, this could be a reasonable alternative...tie a scarf around the handle to jazz it up, don't you think?
{left: Santorini Tote, Michael Kors, $799.00; right: Double-Handle Market Tote, Sur La Table, $45.00}

That should be big enough to carry my NY Times, magazines, water bottle, and snacks, right?

April showers in full force

There will be rain in NYC until mid-week...
I am not a happy camper.
These are cheering me up though.

Ulla Johnson Spring 2009

A perfect blend of brights and neutrals...
Basic staples for your spring closet, all of which are, easily, the perfect transition pieces into summer.  There's even a little hint of sporty chic...I'm SUCH a sucker for cotton-blend skirts.

Happy Weekend!

It's the weekend, easter and all! Any fun plans? I'll be with the fam, dying eggs, and eating great food. I just signed up for this at a local farm. I hope I get approved, so I can get my weekly CSA boxes (of veggies) all summer! Have a good one :)

On the road again

Taza and Husband take a cross-country road trip.
...which totally inspires me to drive my bug to CA!
Doesn't it just look like a blast?

Frugality: Black and white stripe dress

Remember this cheeky, but pricey number? I fell for it months ago and have since been looking for a cheaper alternative, which is why I almost fainted when I saw something VERY similar at dELiA*s.

{left: DVF El Shane Dress, net-a-porter, $395.00; right: Stephie Knit Dress, dELiA*s, $34.50}

Not quite the SAME, but the trade-off is worth the difference! P.S. It's only one more day until the weekend! xo

Tom and his 'wichcraft

Most people know Tom Colicchio from his judging gig on Top Chef. But, if you love him on TV, you'll dig him even more after eating at any of his Craft restaurants. Unfortunately, neither I nor you can probably cook as well as ol' Tom...or can we?

Luckily, he JUST released his cookbook based on his famous chain 'wichcraft, the most outrageous handmade sandwiches you will ever try...

{sicilian tuna, fennel, black olive, and lemon on baguette}

{grilled cheddar, smoked ham, pear, and mustard on cranberry-pecan bread}

{chicken salad, walnuts, roasted tomatoes, pickled red onions, and frisee on multigrain bread}

I fully plan on making these beauties (or ANYTHING from the cookbook for that matter) for lunch from now on...brown-bagging it all the way. We are in a recession after all. Oh please, like I need to remind you. More drool-worthy photos here.

Today is the day to join Gilt Groupe.

Louboutin for under $300...should I...shouldn't I?
Want in?  Here's your invite.

EDIT: In a matter of minutes, all of the sizes were sold out, in every style, color, size.  I've never seen anything like it.  Vultures.

Tiny post: A Juicy Couture dress I actually like?

It hurts how bad I want this dress...
and it's sold out everywhere on the planet.

Oh, those people at LEGO!

When you work at LEGO, these are your calling cards. They even try to match your hair-do! If this isn't inspiration, I don't know what is. And incase you're jonesing for some of your own, here are their job vacancies.

03 April 2009

Hello, Friday

Welcome to the weekend!  I'm looking forward to a, hopefully, sunny and warm next couple of days.  What are your plans?  I'm dying to see I Love You, Man...any reviews?  Here's a round-up of some of my favorites this week:

Whip up a batch of rock star treats.

An inspiration to send TONS of packages. (via here)

"Work hard and be nice to people."

Gwyneth to design her own line!

Knitters gone wild.

A darling site showcasing some pretty rad artists, whose web design is all inspiring on its own.

NYC-corporate leagues taking a turn for the worst.  What's next?

My favorite street style look of the week.

Dying eggs...my favorite!

This is a VERY novel idea for a favorite, hot drink.

A must-have for special occasion cards.

xo!

Inspired: Lots of Red and Hearts

{1. Bestie Necklace Set, Fred Flare, $18.00; 2. Heart Print Twist Headband, Top Shop, $10.00; 3. Jewel Heart Ring, Forever 21, $3.80; 4. Cupcake Ceramic Container, Fred Flare, $18.00; 5. Heart Cinched Bandeau + Skirtini, dELiA*s, $29.50}

With February 14th long gone, I'm surprised to see hearts all over the place! Usually I'd be a little hesitant, but I'm digging the cheery, love shapes. The cupcake container? Hi. The heart bikini? So retro and classic. And don't get me started on the best friend necklace...5th grade all over. What do you think? Love the hearts or leave it for V-Day?

01 April 2009

It's April 1st, I know.

Some bum in the middle of Times Square kept screaming, "Hey lady, you dropped something!  You dropped something!".  OF COURSE, I kept walking, until I actually thought I dropped my phone or something just as horrific.  I did about 3 circles around my area, and then I hear, "Got ya!".  Oh man, fooled again.

Anybody try to pull a fast one on you today?  Line the toilet with cling wrap?  Put honey in the soap dispensers?  Spill it.  On a completely different note, here are some of my recent favorites from around the web:
