hm I think thumbs down- the first thing I thought without reading your commentary was "geriatric crew". unfortunately I live in a suburb of san diego where everyone apparently goes to die. and I swear every single one over 75 wears them, like "I wear my sunglasses to bridge... so I can, so I can."

it looks like one of those especial glasses that eye doctors make you wear so the light doesn't touch your eye. hahah wow
I give the glasses an ENORMOUS thumbs down...knock it fo sho. But, these people are so painfully cool that of course they can pull it off...just not for moi.
I say, whatever takes their mind of their impending doom works for me. :)
I hope I'm dead by the time we're all looking like this....
