I think that all of you can relate to the money struggles of a twenty-something. I'd much rather be going out to eat at all the fabulous restaurants in the city, vacationing abroad, or shopping without any reservations. Even though I save a set amount from each check for long-term savings, I end up just transferring it out. Oops! Do you have any good (and semi-easy) money-saving tricks?

DOLLAR PIZZA!
But that's not fair because only use NYCers can take advantage of that. Of course, it's the only cheap thing we've got.
I suck at the take a little out of the check and don't touch it. What I have always done is set a minimum cap on my bank account like say, the amount of one month's rent. Then I tell myself that I'm simply not allowed to touch that money unless absolutely necessary. I act as if it doesn't exist, yet the knowledge of having it there keeps me sane.
Basically I pretend that number means $0.
The rest? I just spend. What's the point of making money if you can't go out and spend from time to time (reasonably).
I guess this is more of a mind game really and less of a helpful way to save. HA!
i totally feel the same way! i work hard, why can't i spend it?? beyond frustrating. dollar pizza isn't a terrible idea. dollar hot dogs too maybe!
girrrrrrl, i don't know if i can provide any more helpful tips but i have the same exact dilemma! i'm trying to be better about bringing/making lunches to the office, rather than buying lunches every day. that little bit totally adds up weekly/monthly!
Seems like were in the same boat, haha. Well if you're truly focused on it disciplined and proper budgeting in needed. But I work so hard for this and its equally right to play hard too, isn't it?
