A slap on the wrist & Gilt Groupe emergency

Hi all! Boy, well, I've been a little delinquent on my posting now haven't I? It's been over a week now. Hope you can forgive me. Lots of Christmas excitement, so much to even begin to share (okay, I lied. I got this and this mama)! More importantly though, I know you shopping fiends have a Gilt Groupe account somewhere. Anyone want to make my New Year? Invite me, yo.

Make sure you drink, eat, and laugh too much this New Years. Lots of love, health, and wealth to all! xo

UPDATE: Nicole Marie hooked it up. You're the best! You can get your invite here too!

Find a happy place

I'm in the greatest mood right now!  It's snowing and it's the weekend in only a couple more hours.  Some rooms that reflect my joy! xo

Secret Santa, baby

I've always been a fan of the not-so-secret Santa gift exchange. The key is to be as specific as possible so you get what you want. That is the whole point after all, right? I usually hint my never-failing favorites:

1. versatile Chanel nail colour, $20

2. fancy vintage-inspired umbrella, $30

3. peachy coffee table book, from $22.00

But...

Of course, not everyone is this helpful or specific when it comes to these things. If your match forgot to tell you what they wanted, don't freak. Simply refer here because, frankly, they do a better job at choosing and sorting out gifts than a lot of the "other" places. Go for it, watch the credit cards, and report back.

By the way, what do you usually request from your Secret Santa? Spill it.

P.S. shout out to Dalya...thanks! xo

Purple People Pleaser

Isn't this Pom Pom Badge absolutely perfect for a New Year's bash?  I think that paired with a teal or navy dress it would look divine.  Lo-lo-lo-lo-v-e.

Port = Bradshaw?

As our favorite Hills star ventures into NYC with her new job at DVF, seeking love and success, Page Six calls Whitney Port the next Carrie Bradshaw.  True or false?

mycakies surprised her husband on his birthday with a mustache from here...but of course she bought some for the rest of the fam!  Aren't they absolutely wonderful to die for?!  After breakfast in bed, they played at the santa monica pier and the pictures are ridiculous.  I'm jealous and want one of my own.

B.Y.O.P.B.

In case you have $11K to blow, buy your own photo booth.  If you don't have that pocket change laying around, you can rent one for about a tenth of the price.  I'd definitely take pics like that chick in the second square.  Hope your Monday is a blast.

Happy Weekend

"I got no time for the jibba-jabba."

I'm planning on a little decorating here and there. DEFINITELY have to finish shopping and I completely forgot about stocking stuffers?! Yikes. I'm on a mission to find the least crowded mall with stellar deals. I'm obviously dreaming. Happy weekend, fools.

Incase you haven't had enough of Christmas decor posts...

I know most people are probably already done thinking about decorating, but if you are like me, the procrastinating queen, then buckle down and pay attention.  I found some out-of-the-box decorating ideas via LivingEtc.  It's inspiring me to get a move on it, Christmas is only 13 days away after all:

Baubles, candy, and other treats inside precious tea cups.

A gorgeous bunch of hanging ornaments as an alternative to a tree.

Edible garland!  Marshmallows and popcorn!

Frames with bright ribbon holding up the cards.

A pretty branch with baubles over a dining room table.

Kosher for Christmas

"Well it is Christmas after all, I mean, Hannukah, I mean the Holiday Season."

Beauty is only mullet deep

Here is an ACTUAL website dedicated to the business in the front and party in the back.  It's a little hard to navigate, but there are definitely some winners on there like our good friend A.C. Slater.  We all need a little (more like a lot) laugh on a dreary Wednesday!

Boots 'n Hood in Berlin

Doesn't she look so cool?  Very Obi Wan Kenobi, but I like it.  From one of my favorite street style sites based out of Tel Aviv.

P.S. It's Friday!

Deli Dali

A landscape? Don't let your eyes fool you. That road is salami. The trees are prosciutto. And just some ciabatta rocks to seal off the deal. Anything that combines food and artistic talent gets an A+ in my book. Don't worry because there's more from where this came from.

My plan to avoid skiing

Every first week of the month, I get something very special...my very own copy of Domino delivered to my mailbox. Besides the gift guide and soiree feature, my absolute favorite part was the story on "3 Winter Parties". I was inspired to look into snowshoeing!

Who's tried snowshoeing? Tell me all about it. If not, what are your favorite alternatives?

Rodelightful

I don't know much about Rodel Latin America, but I do know that the collections are just as fabulous as the photographs themselves.  The design team is based out of Brazil which makes it all ultra-hard to get a hold of.  If you have any leads, you know who to call.

It keeps growing and growing and...

I've made it past my 100th post!  My little blog is still a baby, but I can't begin to describe how grateful and happy I am to have some of the best readers in blogland.  I absolutely cannot wait to continue sharing my pretty favorites, some shopping wish lists, quirky finds, and other inspirational goodies.  Hugs and kisses all around! And of course, a really huge thank you! :)

Just the favs...hope you love them too: this one, this, that, and here.

First place in my book

Prize-ribbons: classically rewarding.
I would love to top my christmas gifts with these.

-----------------------------

P.S. This international award (which means "the blog invests and believes in the proximity/closeness blogging gives us") was passed on to me by the charming Dorkys Ramos of Dry As Toast.  Criteria for the award are as follows:
"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find & be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."
I can't bear to choose!  Any of my lovely readers can post this bad boy.  Thanks again, D.R.!  Happy blogging! :)

Circus is coming to town

I'm not one for agreeing with critics on movie or music reviews, but the recent reviews of Britney Spears' new album "Circus", set to hit stores tomorrow, had me curious and exploring the web for any truth.  I found this amazing recent leak of the album (9 whole songs!).  And...I need to agree with the critics on this one.  SHE'S BACK and I would camp out in front of Virgin Records if I could.  Here are some CIRCUS inspired pieces that I just couldn't help but post for this special occasion.

From top left: 1. Pauline Rader Vintage Necklace, Archive Vintage; 2. Chapeau Claudette Top Hat, ASOS; 3. Leather Deco Clutch, Top Shop; 4. Clown Bow Sleeveless Blouse, Top Shop; 5. Sequin Flirt Mini Skirt, Forever 21; 6. Bally Guniga Platforms, Net-a-Porter; 7. You're Swell CardCuriosity Shoppe

P.S.  A sneak peek at B.S.'s video for "Circus":

The bigger...the better?

HOLY SMOKES.  I don't really know what else to say.  What are your thoughts?  Besides laughter.

Life's necessities via POSTALCO

Postalco began in Brooklyn and has now spread as far as Tokyo.  They are obsessed with mail, paper, and paper goods, which is definitely right up my alley.  The website is chock-full of leather and cloth envelopes, graph paper, letter writing sets, and pretty much any other staple item you would want in your desk or on your travels.  Some of my favorites for your viewing pleasure:

Toolbox: For scissors and other do-dads you don't want floating around in your purse.

Small mail bag: The perfect messenger bag.  Need I say more?

Fancy-pantsy envelopes: Super elegant, I wouldn't even want to write on them.

Postcard leather wallet: The handsome, baby version of the big leather envelopes.

GIRL TALK

I'm a little behind on my music game, but anyone who is anyone should really download the most recent release of Girl Talk's Feed the Animals.  He's like a DJ on steroids.  The crux of his, Gregg Gillis, fame is his ability to take DOZENS of songs and make a mashed-up piece of heaven.  The problem: he has no legal rights to these songs whatsoever, and they actually sound better than the original.  I'm not joking.  Maybe that's why he'll probably get the pants sued off of him (hence why he can't sell his CD).  You can, however, download this iPod-party off of his website at whatever price you name.  You can thank me later.

Stocking

a darling little stocking for a pretty little mantle.

Hayden makes a mean clutch

Hayden Panettiere, the face of Dooney & Bourke, is proving her talents once more with the introduction of the Hayden Clutch, a collaboration between the actress and D&B designers.  Gold accents and the lion crest, inspired by her astrological sign, Leo, make this bag look extra regal and classic.  The bag, available in 6 versatile hues, is set to hit stores December 1, 2008 for $295.00.  Just in time for Santa to throw it in our stockings.

Have a silly weekend!

Off to Atlantic City this weekend!  Can't wait to be irresponsible and silly.
Anyone have any good plans?  Regardless, have a blast, try something new.

For now, I leave you with some of this week's candy:
    • Wild secrets from a favorite store.  You'll never believe what goes on.
    • My favorite G.G. recap. Fact v. fiction.
    • Plaid  is my favorite for the holidays.
    • Nic-Rich's pretty braids.  Planning on trying these.  I may or may not be successful.
    • A home filled with wonders.
    • I want to be a kid again!
    • Her awesome hat (and burnt sienna colored jacket)!
    • Last, but not least!  Holy smokes!

5-for-$50 Fridays

{grand total: $48.78}

A little hope for the weekend shopping trips!
  • Dahlia Dot PillowcasesdELiA*s, $11.99: This adorable orange color is my favorite for winter.  I especially think it would be fun and cozy waking up to these polka-dots!
  • Bird clips, IKEA, $5.99: Birds bring the wonders of outdoors inside.  These would be especially perfect for clipping pictures to hanging twine or clip on tablecloth corners as weights.
  • Eye Widener Pencil, e.l.f., $1.00: This entire website is dirt cheap and apparently not too bad either.  Has anyone tried e.l.f. cosmetics?  Let me know.
  • Cheshire Croc Clutch, Forever 21, $22.80: Forever 21...need I say more?
  • Love tape, Fred Flare, $7.00: I want to wrap all my gifts with this.  I just think of how great it would be to open a present sealed with pretty hearts.
