Hello, Friday

It's been a little rough on the celebrity front, hasn't it? To Ed, Farrah, and Michael: you did good. As per the routine, here's a round-up of my favorites this week:

Bonnaroo Re-do #2

Back to Bonnaroo re-do with my pick #2. She can almost be confused for one of the Olsen twins, right? I think it's the hair.

P.S. Get at me if there are any Bonnaroo looks (check here) you'd like me to shop! So many good ones; I can't decide! Happy one-day-closer-to-Friday :)

Bonnaroo Re-do

Since I saw this and this post showcasing 2009 Bonnaroo street style, I instantly knew that I'd have to make room in my schedule for next year. Not only is the line-up utterly ridiculous (Bruce Springsteen, Ani DiFranco, Erykah Badu--just to name a few), but the attendees' relaxed hobo style is unconventionally fabulous; flowing dresses, muddy rainboots, giant hats, and cross-body bags flooded the crowds. To kick off my weekly series, here's pick #1 of my Bonnaroo re-do.

Steven Alan Plaid Boyfriend Fit Shirt, $160.00

Too Wool for School

Wool and the Gang rocks my world. Perfect rockstar, fringed vest for ruffled chiffon dresses or an oversized loose-knit cotton tank for chilly beach days. Best of all, you can either make your own or buy them ready-to-wear.

P.S. Know how to rock your needles? Whip up your own Paul Smith sweater!

Apartment Inspiration

Bright colors and natural elements win over my heart.
Strong cheeky/ultra-femme details would be the goal in my dream apt.

Spotted: A dreamy, fairytale pillow

"And they lived happily ever after". charming and to the point. Heck, where can I find this exact pillow?! I looked and looked and all other options fell short:
[bed, bath, and beyond: not really hitting the nail on the head]

Anyone have any suggestions? I have a wedding coming up and it could be the perfect deal-sealer!

P.S. real housewives of new jersey? I'm obsessed with hearing what you thought! I could watch it 100 times on repeat. Three best parts: 3. Danielle trying to live vicariously through her daughters (showing off portfolio), 2. Caroline training a killer dog, 1. Teresa losing her boobies and flipping the table. Music to my ears.

Twilight My Fire

I was indifferent about the whole Twilight phenom...up until now.
It sounds silly to say, but it took Vanity Fair to convince me.
Oh, Edward, you hunk, you.

Copy Right: Floral Maxi Dresses

I've been getting through the dreary Northeast weather by daydreaming of the better days ahead, mainly wardrobe-related. One of my favorite summer go-to's is the maxi dress for its light, ventilating qualities. On that same note, I can't be spending a paycheck on ONE dress because, the reality is, mine tend to go through a lot of wear and tear throughout the season--beach days, city heat, sweat, subways, blah. As always, a more sensible alternative via our favorite, F21. I know, they're not identical twins (more-so fraternal), but are you digging it?

A nice little Saturday planned

Every year, the borough of Belmar hosts the notorious NJ Seafood Festival, rain or shine, and unfortunately, we saw very little of the latter. It's been said that almost 100,000 visitors (within only 2 days) swarm to the 5th and Ocean Avenue location to savor aisles and aisles of Jersey's finest catches and scour the handmade goods tents. Throughout the day, we munched on some sweet potato fries with cinnamon sugar and shrimp with pineapple skewers, but my absolute favorite were the king crab legs (the damage, bottom photo) from Klein's tent. It was the best $13.00 ever spent. Ever. Plus, we picked up some yummy smelling hand-rolled cigars for post-meal. We don't mess around.

All of a sudden I have a wild urge to get a dog: thanks and thanks.

The perfect sunglasses for summery picnics (via flora's box).

Teresa is starting a children's clothing line. Oh dear.

People in Copenhagen are too cool and stylish.

Bright colors and girly girls!

Celebs are SO fun.

Obsessed much? Unearthen.

I'm not sure if it's the gems or the bullets that turn me on to these necklaces. What I do know is that the quirky juxtaposition of violence and beauty, rough and smooth, manmade and nature creates a sort of i-don't-know-what that makes my tummy twirl.

All the rain in NYC is really starting to take a toll on my mood. Can't we just get a tiny peek of sunshine? Since it's not looking too good, here's my pick-me-up...Martha, who else?

{being red} road-tested: cosmetics

Throughout the past couple of weeks, I've sifted through my cosmetics collection and replaced a few things. Not with my usual department store finds, but picks from the pharmacy aisle, which I was pleasantly delighted to find yielded the same, if not better, results.

1. Maybelline XXL Extensions, $7.95: Often skeptical of mascara from the start, this one tends to shut me up pretty quickly. It does everything I want in a tube--lengthens, volumizes, and adds a ridiculous amount of drama. Not too shabby for a tiny $8.00 wonder. Be sure to wiggle the wand as you apply so that you don't clump!

2. Bonne Bell Glimmer Bronze, $3.95: My best friend and I worship this bronzer. I actually stock up (4 at a time) whenever I get my hands on them because Bonne Bell is sadly becoming scarce. With just the right amount of glitz and tint, this loose powder literally transforms your face from matte mess to glamourous gal. Remember that a LITTLE goes a long way!

3. St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub, $3.99: Nothing like a tingled, fresh feeling after a long day at work. Tiny sand particles scrub, scrub, scrub all those loose skin cells and dirt from your pretty face, leaving you gleaming and smooth. Once a day should do the trick--I tested mine at nighttime.

4. Barbisol Shaving Cream, Original or Aloe, $1.49: A timeless product with classic scents and a pretty nice price tag. Why fix it if it's not broken? Good ol' Barb gets the job done. I found that it works best on legs and underarms...

5. Nivea Lipcare Pearl + Shine, $3.99: Unrelenting pearl-essence in this small lip balm is equally perfect for casual daytime and a girl's night out. It's dirt cheap and also comes in SPF formula, which is great if you roast in the sun like me.

Flowers on Black

Bold flowers surrounded by a giant black background doesn't get much more amazing than this. The photography style reminds me of Joanna's post a while back, which I was equally obsessed about. Check out Magic Pants Jones' blog and her flickr for more fun. Hooray for Hyacinths!

Thank Sara of Sara Says Awesome for this find :)

Lohan: Female Actor, Singer...Creative Consultant?

Sources around the web have confirmed Lindsay's little visit to Emanuel Ungaro's studio in Paris to discuss some future endeavors. Apparently, he wants to sign her on as a "creative consultant", but some people (ahem, Esteban Cortazar) are not having it, claiming that "[Lindsay] is going to be the nail in the coffin. Nobody will take them seriously ever again." Harsh, E.

Lindsay's career is pretty much null and void (still love her to bits), any chance she'll find her saving grace in the fashion creative? Bueller, Bueller...

P.S. Wouldn't it be bananas if they brought on a blogger? Oh, I don't know like Rumi of Fashion Toast? They absolutely adore her!
