Cut spending, not style: #2

buy salvaged for a one-of-a-kind look for exponentially less

The Green Project is a warehouse store, reselling high-quality, salvaged building materials at low costs to help the environment, as well as protect the integrity of New Orleans' architectural history.

I've had the honor of visiting New Orleans to clean up a bit after Katrina.

While venturing along, a couple of us volunteered for the day at The Green Project, whose preservation efforts take from those homes destroyed by the hurricane:

vintage sinks, beaten up wooden beams, Victorian light fixtures...

Isn't this is great way to install beautiful elements into your home without a mass produced look?  The best part is, it's inexpensive and it's green! SHOP SALVAGE!  Have any of you utilized any of these types of warehouses?  Would you ever?

Wow, that must have been heavy to see NO after Katrina.
